Some more of that Wu shit

While I try to maintain a balanced musical diet consisting of large helpings of punk, rap, death metal, and a bit of trance here and there, the past couple of weeks of my life have been dominated by the Wu-Tang Clan; arguably the best rap group of all time (in my opinion it is not even a question). Consisting of the RZA, the GZA, Method Man, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Ghostface Killah, U-God, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, and Masta Killa, the group encompasses all that is east coast lyrical hip-hop. No frilly or over produced club-bangin beats, no hyped up lyrics or shoutouts, no bullshit: just pure, unadulterated hip-hop. I include here 2 selections: The first being the group's first single, entitled "Protect Ya Neck". The track, which was released in 1992 and later named by source magazine as one of the top 100 singles ever made, revolutionized the rap game by featuring 8 rappers with very different styles on one track with no chorus (The song features 8 of the original 9 members of the Clan, exlcuding Masta Killa as he was incarcerated at the time). The second track, "4th Chamber" is off the GZA's first solo album "Liquid Swords" and features ( in order of appearance on the track) Ghostface Killa, Killah Priest (a wu-tang affiliate, not an origianal member), the RZA, and the GZA. Enjoy.
