I'm sure all of you guys were watching the NCAA selection show this past Sunday...(what Duncan? You were at the library studying and slanging D's 20s?) Well if you didn't watch, UCSB is playing the number 2 seed Ohio St on Friday night in the first round. Ohio State is a legitimate final four team with the favorite for player of the year in Evan Turner. I plan to post an in depth breakdown of the match-up later in the week (or as I plan to call it "Adams' Keybumps to the Game") but it is very clear that UCSB has their work cut out for them.
If Ohio State is a number 2 seed in basketball then they are a CLEAR number 1 seed in Blogging. My personal favorite blog and a source of great personal inspiration is the blog Club Trillion. Club Trillion is a blog started by Mark Titus who is the 12th man on the Ohio State bench. His basketball game is pretty one dimensional (much like Jimmy's photographic sense) but he definitely is a "five tool" blogger.
His material focuses on the trials and tribulations inherent in being a perennial bench warmer. The name "Club Trillion" originates from a term that he coined that describes his ideal stat sheet. As a bench warmer, he normally gets in the game for only 1 minute. He then tries to do absolutely nothing when he gets in the game...no points, no rebounds, no turnovers, no assists. His stat sheets then reads 1 followed by all zeros. This is called going for a trillion. This dude literally gets booed by Ohio State fans if he does something good like score a bucket because it ruins his shot at a trillion.
Titus' blog provides a unique and hilarious look inside a D1 locker room. He chronicles his run-ins with Erin Andrews, his problems with the NCAA, and the love he gets from other white, bench all-stars on other teams. However, the best part is his disdain for the arch nemesis of his blog... Ohio State's star player Evan "The Villain" Turner. The main goal of Titus is to punk and prank Turner is every way possible. He uses his blog followers (or as they call themselves... The Trillion Man March)to aid him in this task. This includes spamming his facebook with John Mayer Quotes and pulling his pants down during live televised interviews.
Club Trillion has been getting some serious run in the press, including interviews with Bill Simmons and UCSB Alum Jim Rome, and the dude has had well over 2 million hits. I encourage Hiplectic Nation to check it out...www.clubtrillion.com... I promise you wont be disappointed. UCSB will probably be getting a shout out too.
(In the Pic above...Titus is trying to get the Villain to laugh during an interview by sticking a marker in his face instead of a Microphone)
