The Real "tonight tonight"

Jimms,
Can't believe you posted that passion pit crap. Tonight Tonight might by the Smashing Pumpkins might be one of my favorite songs of all time, and to hear it butchered like that...ouch.
Quick lesson:
Watch the Music video here(embedding disabled.
The music video was inspired by a 1902 film by the Melies Brothers "le voyage dans la lune"

Remember, Tonight Tonight came out in 1995 and the video won MTV VMA video of the year.
Also, was one of the first CDs I ever bought and it still gets heavy rotation to this day.

Not trying to bring the haterade, but some perfect things shouldn't be fucked with, and this song is one of them.

On a side note, still trying to sneak down to SB and visit you boys. Looking like it probably won't happed till august though...I'll keep you posted.

Butchered???

Yes Smashing Pumpkins WERE a great band and yes that song is legendary which is more the reason for other CURRENT great artists to COVER great songs. There is no question here that you cannot even begin to compare Passion Pit to Smashing Pumpkins talent but I don't see any evidence or reason why Passion Pit butchered or tainted it.

If you want to talk about butchering ( can't believe you used that word) we can bring up fleetwood mac or the fucking dixie chixks when tbey covered landslide, but in no way shape or form do i believe passion pit has the ability to butcher anything.

ok butchered was probably a little strong.

I've just never really been that into passion pit. The lead singers voice kinda annoys me on most tracks. Probably a little extra haterade in there, but what do you expect from ck? haha
