It has come to my attention that there is a plethora of amazing rap out there that some members of HiPLECTiC are unaware of or just not familiar with. I always like posting fresh, lyrical tracks that stimulate the mind; but this time I am taking it one step further. I have spent the last hour composing what I believe to be an extremely dope lyrical hip-hop mix. While by no means an all encompassing or definitive compilation, my mix, entitled Some of That Lyrical Shit Vol. 1, is a fantastic representation of some of the best minds ever to pick up a microphone and spit a flow. If your looking for over-produced club bangers or party anthems, you will be severely disappointed. Ideal for a long drive by yourself, I "truly believe" that in order to get the full experience of this mix you should listen to the songs alone or in a quiet environment where you can actively listen to the lyrics; looking up the lyrics is also highly suggested. (Being stoned, while not necessary, will also offer an increased perception into the beauty of the music) Need to relax and chill a little? Turn this shit on your ipod, lie down, and prepare to embark on an introspective journey of the mind. Unlike many other forms of rap, the producers of these songs employ skeletal and stripped down beats that serve as a canvass for the MC to lyrically illustrate upon. Many of you have definitely heard alot of these songs, but I guarantee that there is some shit on here that you have never heard. Sharing music with friends is my favorite thing to do, so let me know if you like it and want more.
