Fuck the Movies

So danielle left this afternoon, and since none of my friends are still around denver, I figured I'd take my 14 year old step-brother out to go see Piranha 3d. We got to the theater, and I realized it was rated R--no big deal I thought--I told him to go wander off while I bought the tickets so they didn't question his age. Well, being the generation of ADD children, by the time I got into the front of the line, Ben pops up right next to me, and the guy immdieitly begins waving his fingers croaking "i can only let him in with mom and dad." I had a sudden urge to cause a scene and describe how we had met in the chaos of what was Hurricane Katrina. After he watched his last living relative drown, he was carried 3 miles in crocodile infested waters by a minature horse named Sally and eventually landed on my doorstep. 3 months later I had legally adopted him and we had become fast friends. Today (nearly) marks the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, and to celebrate we made a pack to face our fear of water and it's creatures by seeing Piranha 3d. Instead we just left, and got some candy--and now I find myself blogging on a Saturday night at 9:30.

But this isn't as depressing as it sounds, since my contributions to Hiplectic the past few weeks have been worse than Pruetts "mini-ramp", I have a bunch of new music that I think you will enjoy:
First, is Cee-Lo Gree (one of the dudes from Gnarls Barkley) singing on this ironically titled jam Fuck You. Will turn your frown upside down--no matter what the occasion. With enough soul and a fast enough beat to definitely make Wasted Wednesdays 6631 Style's playlist (sweet event description by the way guys)
Next, we have a coordinated project from Dj/Produce Sammy Bannanas and the party starter Maggie Horn. Collabing to create "Re-Imagined Covers," the duo makes a quick classic Yeasayer's O.N.E. and Gyptians dance-fest banger "Hold Yuh." With the track O.N.E. (Yeasayer x Gyptian cover) coming in at only 2.5 minutes long is the the only short coming of this jam.
