Passion or Obsession

Here are some numbers for you.  We are 11 days deep and I've already downloaded 106 new songs into my Itunes library this month.  Most of them are obscure (not to me) Progressive House, Trance, and Electro songs that I find on various blogs and podcast mixes.  All downloaded for free, I can't remember the last time I paid for a track.  I bagged 166 mp3s in the month of September.  Since I got my computer on 10/1/2009, I've downloaded 1564 songs for lack of a better phrase, by hand, i.e. finding a track that I know might be good, previewing it, and then finding a free 320 kbps mp3 of it for my collection.   Until recently I didn't even realize what how obsessive my collecting was until I asked myself why, besides my addiction and need to hear songs I've never heard before, do I do this.  I don't DJ any of these tracks to my benefit, only for myself for fun.  I don't really share this music through any public forum, just to my close friends.  I want to create my own personal music blog, but I don't have any progressive ideas that would make my blog standout among the thousands just like it.  Plus all the good blog names are already taken.  I need to do something with all this fucking music.
Whatever at least I can share it with you.

A track to play when your with, "a girl you can go on vacation with.."

I've never heard this song. I hope its good. I just rub the Computer Club.

Modern Collective soundtrack.  Gots hipsters teeth sweating.

Melodic DnB with cheese melting lyrics. No, glass melting.

Only cause I'm blogging from my History of Rock N' Roll class and it's the only decent song this hippy has showed us.

I hate old music.

New music.  A song to fuck to. "I kiss her harder when the beat drops"

I need to be like that kook Bob from Hawaii and find a way to turn my passion into money.

I know exactly what you mean derder. until recently when my harddrive maxed out (largely do to the copious amounts of bullshit Top Forty tracks), I too found myself downloading tracks to no end, sometimes only realizing I had downloaded them after i did it for a second time. Iv always known ur passion for this as well, and to this day I rarely download a track without thinking about whether you would like it too and wanting to show u it. Sometimes I only DL it because I know you will enjoy it rather than any liking of my own. Keep up the love for the game derder, its the only thing thats worth anything in the end.

Love

PS maybe one day we can make a use of all these great Downloads and more importantly maybe one day we can make something that some other kid could download at 320 that will make his ears cry in happiness
