Let the anticipation begin. The Blueprint 3 is coming and Jay-Z is in top form. Instead of going at one individual person (like he did with Nas on Ether) Jay destroys and discredits the trend that has flooded and saturated hip-hop--the autotuner. His delivery and message and is calculated and strategic--thats why this is an instant classic. I know a lot of you guys are not huge hip-hop fans, but this is not just good hiphop, its good music.
The song definitelty has an older generation appeal, looking down with disapproval on the youngsters’ new styles. “You know you’re old when” you start criticizing the new trends, and pinning for a return to your perception of what’s classic.
