well, this is the single greatest track i have ever listened to in my life. this is what the blog is all about. fucking cudi. fucking dre. gahhahghaghaghagh.
download it here, but be quick because the RIAA are prolly gonna try and take this shit down.
Now I'm pretty sure that the majority of the world has seen Avatar, so I assume you have too. I also assume that when Na'vi and Jake decided to elope we were all eagerly anticipating the sex scene, but to no avail. I was so infuriated (and fascinated) that Jimmy and I even worked out a business plan to create a niche in the porn industry exploiting blue anorexic aliens (especially after doing some research when 2/2 males said they would beat it to avatar porn...happy bday viski hahahah) Anyhow, we were beaten to the punch, so i present with a handful of moisturizing lotion and a box of tissues THE NA'AVI SEX SCENE
Exhibit-C is the best rap song of 2010. End of story, no questions asked. Jay Electronica I mean Jay EleChanukah embodies the southern swag and slang that intrigues us to watch hours of VH1 behind the music "lil wayne", or have us saying "yeaaahhh" like the SNOWMAN Jeezy. But unlike your stereo typical martian or D boy, Electronica's lyrics have erected a bridge over the 34th parallel creating a hybrid taking the best parts of both regions rap style.
“When New York niggas was calling southern rappers lame/But then jackin’ our slang/I used to get dizzy spells, hear a little ring/The voice of a angel telling me my name/Telling me that one day i’mma be a great man.”
Enjoy
ps. here is a litle BONUS track that I found on hypem a while back. it kinda reminds me of that jam jimmy introduced us too...a little soft, but definitely catch
There was quite the commotion this afternoon at 760 embarcadero del norte. I was casually sitting at my desk trying to grind out some content since I haven't posted in a while (I completely forgot how much time is taken up by the process of drinking--going to the liquor store, cleaning out shot glasses, ripping some shots, finding a red cup, waiting in line at the keg, pumping the keg, sleeping, and nursing your hangover--so I am attempting to reorganize and prioritize my priorities and get back to blaggging) So back from my tangent, Mitro comes running into my room saying "Dude come quick, you gotta see this!" My intuition told me it was probably going to be a video on XTC.plur.blogspot.org of me yelling obscenities at Steve Aoki such as "I Fucking LOVE Bennihannahsssssss." However, when I enetered into room 5 this is what I saw and recorded on my iPhone (ps, for those of us that are not privlaged to have the 3GS, there is a sweet little app callee iVideoCamera which will cost ya 99 cents, but takes pretty decent videos as you can see below)
Yes, thats right fokls, an apparent Black Widow the girth of Peter North's cock (no homo). However, just as Scudder and I had predicted, Todd "the least honest white man I know" Rogers was stretching the truth to say the least. It turns out that it was no bigger than the size of a dime, and Scudder (who I learned was a Black Widow expert) proclaimed that it was around 4-5 months old, definitely a female probably just entering into her menstral cycle (who new spiders had periods) Although it was hard to get a picture of the spider because it was so damn small, I did my best.
As many of you know, since Mitrovich finally negotiated and signed his endorsement deal with Blackberry (rumors have surfaced that he signed for $6 million dollars a year plus medical benefits and all you can drink PBR) the rest of the class 'A' Iv celebrities followed suite. Today, an extremely exclusive cult like organization has been formed amongst those who are responsible for organizing 'late night planet earth sessions with GK' or 'morning chompers & volleyball with mr. hahn' all through communication via blackberry messaging. Now I do not fully comprehend the process of how bbming works, but from what i've been able to decipher is that essentially BBM is a real-time messaging system that allows users to have conversations with one another or even from groups of people to partake in a conversation. The BBM system works through the users internet connection (were talking 3g here) so that the user is not charged per message like he or she would be for SMS and all they need is an unlimited data plan.
For the past few weeks, I felt like an outsider--literally (thanks to Mitro's "Privacy Protection Screen")--but today I'm optimistic. I write these words very carefully because I know I've already been discredited by my past attempts to find an iPhone solution to BBM. It was a simple app called PING which claimed it had similar services to BBM. However, when landon, yimmers, and I attempted to use it, landon had already deleted it before i could even attempt to ping him, jimmys app wouldnt even open, and mine did not work very well either. The app also failed because you could not see if the person you were messaging was even typing. Today, however, I present to you WhatsAPP Messanger. Essentailly this app is a complete rip off of BBM and offers all the same features including a status update, and most importantly the ability to see if your message has been sent or read. The developer have already created a BETA version of the app for blackberrys so that we can end this segregation and unite all the smart phones of the world just like mr mandela did in that shitty flick Invictus. So, I ask all of you with iPhones, spend the 99 cents and purchase this app, because without anyone to talk too, its pretty fucking useless. I will also definitely let the blackberry folk know when its up and running for blackberrys as well.
Hope all you fuckers have an awesome newyear in Tahoe/PC/Denver/wherever the fuck you may be popping bottles.
So this morning my mom sent me an article about this guy Danny MacAskill in the New York times. So with that being said, i'd like to give a shout out to Pam for the link and credit for this dope video
well, im back home in the 303 and its been super mellow. i feel like i completely forgot what it was like just to chill out by yourself. mind you that i would pay a ridiculous amount of money to viski back here sooner than friday, it was definitely rejuvenating. so, with nothing to do, i started playing around in photoshop--and a few hours later, i finished up a ROUGH logo. i got kinda inspired by a RVCA so cal feel with some rays i saw off a obey shirt a while back. the first words out of clayton's mouth when i showed him were "that looks like absolute shit." nonetheless, its a start. and by the end of the break, clayton and i hope to put together a revolutionary new look to the banner. so please, if any of you guys got some ideas, lemme know.
Will ya bitches its wednesday, which means the Hump is here. Speaking of hump, having a triple for the past week has been really fucking hard--I'll avoid explicit details but Thanksgiving+PMS+Jimmy's night terrors (just like his boy cudi)+Mitro coming in to wash his face=a solid week and a half with no hump. Since I'm currently studying for my econ 101 test, why not apply my drought to an economic model: 2 Dinners ($30) + 2 Movie Tickets ($20) + the agony of WALKING to the library because D doesnt have a bike ($13) / 1 hump=$63/hump--lets just call this model the opposite of the Slutsky equation. Anyway, earlier this week I was doing a little stumbling and 'stumbled' upon this pretty cool sight (but first--if you don't have stumble download, install it, go to hiplectic.blogspot.com and click like--that way our google analytics may get more interesting) which is called Mystery Google Essentially the guys over at google had an innovative twist on the "i'm feeling lucky button" which takes you to the very first listing when you search. With MysteryGoogle, however, your search results consists of whatever the person before you searched for. For example, if you were to hypothetically type in: Todd's 9 inch magnum on MysteryGoogle, you search result may pop up as: hardcore albino porn, or even 'toting glocks in PC'--or whatever the person before you searched.
So this whole idea of getting what the person before you wanted made me very curious and i began wondering what a restaurant would be like if they applied the same principle. After a little research, I actually found a place in Japan that does just that--check it outI think Mitro would order some fucked up shit every time, and just sit there and wait for the person to get it and laugh at them.
Continuing on the trend of random/stochastic events, in the comments section, rather than commenting, click control + V or apple + V to paste your most recent copy--so we can get a general idea on what all fucks have been up too
Well, maybe not twilight...but VAMPIRES. Yes, Kid Cudi teams up with Vampire Weekend to drop a pretty PHURocious freestyle. The track is entitled 'Kudderisback' but personally I was a little confused becuase homie really hasn't left. Now I'm not sure about the rest of the world, but at least in SB, Cudi's debut album Man On the Moon is still getting a ton of spins. This, coupled with the fact that he just was nominated as one of GQ's men of the year for allegedly saving hip-hop (along with Drake and Wale) Cudi is (deservingly) right in the midst of stardom. I guess he was just letting all the haters know that he is the real deal. As for the beat he flows on, its by an indie/alternative band called New Vampire Weekend. So although Edward Cullen is NOT a member, their shit is actually pretty decent. Check out this new song coming off their upcoming album entitled Horchata. (kudderisback)
Greetings mi amigos! Hope all of you enjoyed a fantastic thanksgiving and gorged yourself with turkey, potatoes, stuffing (except for Jimmy who told me instead of eating a traditional thanksgiving meal, he was going to eat an entire 190 Costco Pack of craft singles). Anyway, I made the executive decision to take off that fucking annoying password (compliments of Pruett). The reason for my decision was entirely in my own self-interest with particular regards to two main issues: 1) its a pain in the ass accessing the blog on my cell phone when I'm in class, especially when I have to type in my password and email. 2) Many of you may not no this, but on October 25th I embedded a program called google analytics into our blaag. Essentially, Google has created the ultimate way to monitor the people who visit your site. The image at the top (click to make it big) represents our visitor overview. The statistics are pretty self explanatory, but please not the anomaly on November 4th when idiot posted the blog in his status. Google analytics allows you to do other crazy shit like see what continents/countires/regions/cities the hits are coming from and even lets you see what kind of computer our site was accessed on. However, as you can interpret (or even imagine if your too lazy to click on that first box) our hits were significantly reduced after we put the password restriction on the blog, and in turn, made checking google analytics boring as fuck. Now, I'm not sure what all these stats mean, but I'm putting Weeks in charge of compiling a comprehensive demographic analysis to help further expand our music/commentary to the rest of the world (except for the people in the little town of IV--shouts to Pruett)
Sorry for my forgotten post yesterday...with the DG date party last night and my butt hole leaking from 4 straight days of indian food (shout out to my boy jeffery and his skinny ass friend over at Naan Stop), i was in quite the predicament and getting ready took me longer than usual (who knew stuffing your boxers with toilet paper to prevent a hershey squirt could be so time consuming). Nonetheless, heres a little video that has thoroughly helped ease my headache caused by the fucking altitutde back in the CO. I'm gonna definitely try and get another post up before i head back to SB (instead of just potty jokes) so please don't take me off the banner...
Hello my blogging friends and welcome to the inaugural post in my weekly series--A Case of the Mondays. I hope that picture to the right doesn't disturb you from reading this post, especially if it made you think this was going to be a review of the Marilyn Manson's most recent concert at the Santa Barbara bowl (I think that's actually coming from Pruett later this week). But anyway back to the picture, its from a genre of music and performance that has never been discussed here on hiplectic--Broadway Musicals. Yes Jimmy--the keeper of the corner house kitten (rip)--your right, this picture is from Cats, arguably one of the most famous musicals of our lifetime. Clayton and I grew up on musicals. Every morning Pam would be blasting (and singing along) to some Broadway performance. Nonetheless, I actually enjoyed the CD's (minus Mom singing)--particularly the fact that the music was pretty decent, but more importantly that there was perfect cohesion and flow between songs. Although the majority of mainstream music (at least rap) fails to even come close to matching the fluidity of a musical, the select few of albums that do are (in my book) cold stone classics. At the top of the ranks rests BIG's Ready to Die (download) which fades in with a skit depicting the birth, childhood, teenage years, arrest, and release from prison. This sets up the a cohesive theme of BIG in the past, today and future which underlies every song. If you haven't listened to this album all the way through, quit farming for 45 minutes and do it. Other albums which have 'listen straight through without ever being tempted to press play potential' (LSTWEBTTPPP) include Nas's Illmatic (download) and 50 Cent's Get rich or die trying (DOWNLOAD on second thought, if you don't have this album, just die). Back to my fascination with musicals beyond their innate ability to depict a story in a cohesive manner, I always thought it would be kinda cool to have a tap-dance-off like in west-side story when the Sharks brawl the Jets. I am not by any means condoning standing up in the middle of your geography midterm , standing on your desk while raising your blue-book above your head, and start interpretive dancing on your fold out table while twirling your number 2 pencil like its a baton--nope sorry folks, thats reserved for Rhythmic Gymnasts in the Olympics. Anyway, if I'm ever accidentally drugged with a psychedelic (dont get any ideas landy and matt) and my life suddenly turns into a musical (Well i guess it did over Halloween weekend as a reuslt of 1 too many Banquet Beers) I am pretty sure I would Chromeo following me around (of course with my back up dancers too)
Now, i haven't taken physics since high school, but looking at this video a little more closely, 1) the angles definitely do not match up and 2) the mother fucker that took the spill would more likely have floated into to hipster purgatory--heaven and hell are way to main stream--rather than popping up like Todd does everymorning at 6 to read the Wall Street Journal
Well its almost been a week since our glorious trip to Tahoe wrapped up, so this blog post is long over do (plus I am bored as fuck studying for my midterm tomorrow).
News traveled fast when Jimmy announced that his parents were getting a place in Tahoe for the following weekend, and although everyone at the corner house seemed stoked on the idea, it seemed improbable that any of us would pull our heads out of our asses and actually realize that this was another pristine opportunity to escape the monotony of another Isla Vista weekend. As the weekend neared, a motley crew was assembled and finalized: Jimmy, Mitro, MattMatt and I would embark on a fun filled weekend to the HOE. (Race and DerDer were originally supposed to embark on this expedition with us, however, Race claimed he needed to "hook up with chicks this weekend" and DerDer's excuse followed a similar train of thought--get a cold sore from Armando)
With Jimmy at the wheel of the S4--part 1 of our expidition began: Danville or BUST.
After a long drive, we made it to the South Bay where E is prescribed like Penicillin and the Bay Slaps play 24/7. However, fatigue had caught up with us, and decided to stop for the night in Jimmys (super dope) house. Before hitting the sack we had a nice little spa/pool sesh, and proceeded to watch the most fucked up movie I have ever seen--check the Intro to the flick below.
We awoke the next morning, bright eyed and ready to hit the road. After crossing over Donner Pass--Cannibals are SWEET!--we arrived in the quaint village of Truckee, CA. We immediately threw on our trunks, found a few rafts in the garage, bought a few 18 packs, and drove upstream. Although we had no water proof cameras, let me assure you floating down the Truckee river was super EXTREME. 36 beers, a couple of milfs, and 1 Steele Reserve later--we arrived at our final destination completely in tack (minus a couple of sandals).
Beaten and drunk from the river, we BBQd some burgers (which MattMatt would have burnt to a crisp had Jimmy's mom not intervened) we passed out pretty early after an intense game of JENGA. We got up early the next morning and cruised down to Donner Lake where we Wakeskated, Tubed, and enjoyed the great outdoors. Even Jimmy's Dad was stoked to Hit the Lake!
Jimms with his 'son' MATTMATT
Chillaxin, enjoying the SUN.
Heems showin us how wakeskatin is supposed to be done
Mitro shreddin some H20--what else do you expect from a water creature?
Me demonstrating how NOT to wakeskate.
Jimms SHREADIN' it.
And these two simply for your sheer entertainment.
Well, after bootlegging some logo designing software this summer with hopes of designing a sweet image for the header...my dreams (and about 3 hours I watched my computer download the softawre) were ruined when I realized how fucking stupid this program was and decided to try it on my on....and this is what I came up with.
As you may have noticed, it's undergone about 3 drastic transformations, but I think it looks pretty fucking sick.
Welcome to the banner Viski, and for you Pruett, Mitro says that you need to make a non soccer related post with actual words instead of just a video haha
Wow. This trailer is something else. Although I was unfamiliar with this flick and its prequel (which was released in 1982), after watching the trailer I was instantaneously capitavted. In fact, deja vu hasn't hit me so hard in a while, and this trailer totally brought me back to this time I was so high i thought i was in a video game and couldn't get out (or in other terms, the last 6th months of Races life).
Nonethelss, this is gonna be DOPE!
ps. Jimms, Im not sure about the Fray on Friday, but were definitely cruising DT Sunday Night for DJ Shamndas premier at ToniC WOOOOHOOOOO
Now I'm not exactly sure why I'm posting this, maybe it was the 6 beers I ended up (legally) draining as I watched the Rockies lose another tough one to the Giants (fuck you Jimmy & Pruett) at beautiful Coors field which has given me a distorted sense of humor, or maybe I am bored as fuck (once again) being Saturday night and not shit to do. But anyway, enjoy some good ole' Black Entertainment
